Museum Victoria

Museum Victoria (http://museumvictoria.com.au/) is making a range of species information and data from its natural history collections available through the Atlas of Living Australia.

Contribution to the ALA

During 2007-2008 Museum Victoria will be developing a range of content for the Atlas, including:

  • Specimen data from the museum's marine and terrestrial collections
  • Images of primary type specimens of Australian insects, mollusca, mammals, lizards, snakes, amphibians and birds
  • Images of native and exotic pests established in Australia, served from the Pests and Diseases Image Library (PaDIL)
  • Commitment to fund two fulltime registration staff to data capture Natural Science specimens
  • Commitment to host the OZCAM web portal which will deliver data to ALA
