Southern Cross University

Southern Cross University (http://www.scu.edu.au/) is making data from the Australian Plant DNA Bank available through the Atlas of Living Australia.

Contribution to the ALA

During 2007-2008 Southern Cross University will be developing a range of content for the Atlas, including:

  • Barley DNA, including DNA extracted from wild barleys and barley landraces acquired through ICARDA in Syria.
  • Macadamia DNA, to establish a living collection and a DNA a collection of all current varieties and a DNA collection, in conjunction with the local Macadamia society.
  • Web pages from the Australian Plant DNA Bank.
  • Linkages between DNA bank data and herbaria or seed bank databases.
