What literature is available through the Atlas?

References to literature in the Atlas, eg journal articles, protologs, are generally drawn from the Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL).

BHL is a consortium of major natural history museum libraries, botanical libraries, and research institutions that provide online access to over two million volumes of biodiversity literature collected over 200 years.

In addition to historical literature, the Australian node of BHL contains numerous in-house and other Australian journals supporting biodiversity research.
